God is my defense

My wife and I both went through situations today that hurt, created anxiety, and in my case also caused anger.  We sat down together, shared our concerns, and prayed about them.  In both cases we felt better after praying- encouraged, hopeful, healthy, and able to trust God with the situations.  Life is tough sometimes and life can  hurt.  What is great was being able to share with  my wife - and her likewise - and then taking the issues to God.  This drew us together and as we mutually prayed for each other not only did we feel better but we put the issues into the hands of God; a God who has proven Himself faithful time and time again.  A scripture from my Psalm of the day a few days ago kept coming to mind, "God is my defense".  He IS my defense- I had never thought of it before but that's really powerful and the Lord is giving me opportunities to believe and act on that with my trust in Him.

I explained to my daughter why we had been sharing (a few minutes of it had to be fairly negative and my daughter overheard it) which was to get the issues out onto the table so we could then pray about them.  I then explained we were then going to pray about the situations.  Its good my daughter got to see us dealing with the concerns and hurts of life by praying about them.  I want to develop a family history in which we go to the Lord with everything, trust Him with everything, and see His hand at work in miraculous ways.

Let's GO God!
