God's business

I have been thinking a lot lately about a business idea I have had for awhile which has a strong ministry and redemptive core. I hope someday I can fulfill this dream.

God is interested in businesses that are a channel for doing good. He is interested in innovative businesses that share his redemptive heart.

Business is not neutral or secular to God. In the Old Testament for example Israel was commanded to leave grain they dropped and leave the edges of their fields for the poor- this is God's idea! A business can be successful and competitive while still fulfilling a higher calling.

We have a short life - short!! What if our business could do good AND make a profit? We spend so much time at work that much of the essence of our lives will be poured out at work. Whether I am able to fulfill my personal business dream or not the question comes powerfully echoing back to me - what can I do where I am NOW to fulfill what is in my heart to make a difference for people and for God's Kingdom?

God is not a God who stays in church. God is with us as we work and desires to work alongside us. He desires to be involved! What an amazing fact that God cares about these details but it should come as no surprise. As a dad I can tell you I am interested in everything my kids do- and I want to be involved - how much more the greatest Father.

I want to challenge you and me to ask God how we can involve Him in our work and our business.

Let's GO God!
