A deeper place

Lord, I am not satisfied at the level of relationship that I have with you. I desire so much to be closer to you. I desire to lay down everything that hinders me from being closer to you. Remove from me the layers of those things that keep me from being closer to you. Refine my heart. Purify me. Teach me to draw near to you in a sustained way. My soul thirsts for you O'Lord. I have been spending more time with you and I find the desire to draw near to you burning like a fire. I have been worshipping your name more and it makes me want to be set ablaze in worship to burn like a lamp for you. Help me to know you Lord. Nothing else matters. Show me the way and take me there for without you I can do nothing. Grant me this grace.

Oh God, I love that you call yourself Father. I love that relationship term. It is a leadership role, a creating role, a guiding and leading role, a protecting role, a teaching role, and a gentle and compassionate loving role. I love that you want to know us as our Father. Help me to know you like that. Help me to help others to know you like that.
