I wonder how many times Christian business people faint and give up when, if they would have persevered a little longer, they would have been victorious? I think this applies to business, family relationships, and spiritual growth. What insights do you all have on that? Think of the metaphor of a person in the desert looking for water and they fall down and give up not knowing water was over the next hill. Or, think of it as a battle in which a person is fighting a fierce battle and they give up and retreat not knowing the enemy is about to be beaten.
Do we ask the Lord before we give up on a relationship, a job, or a spiritual challenge? Are we in charge or is he? What if he is saying "seek me more during this downturn and delight in me and you can't know it now but I am preparing victory for you".
