Through the fire

Well, yesterday was a major low-point. I was exhausted and so slammed at work it was beyond belief or explaining. So, I had my family pray for me and then I went in my room to seek the Lord and put him first. As I have been doing lately I have been using Biblegateway and using the audio playback option. I have been slowly working through the Book of Isaiah which is a precious book to me along with the Psalms. I was intending on seeking the Lord for an hour, then work on a plan which was due by last night for a new concept at work but I was so tired it felt like a kind of pain.

I was thoroughly exhausted but I put the Lord first and attempted to have a devotion-but I fell asleep doing it and I never even attempted to work. But I woke up with a confidence and peace in the Lord that transcended my situation. I had peace, confidence, and energy throughout the day and I constantly relied on the Lord in mini-prayers for each situation that arose. Once today I was in a tough situation and I asked the Lord for help and he didn't give me any answer or make the situation go away but he just reminded me he was with me and he was prepared for this situation - and so I should just attack the situation confidently; that made me smile and just go forward. It truly can be said "the wicked flee though no one pursues but the righteous is as bold as a lion", because the Lord is with us! "Lord, I just want to say thanks a million for your help today- it was incredible. I now see that just like it says in Hebrews 12 or 1st Peter 1 - we will go through difficulties, hardship, and trials but you will work inside of us through those situations and restore us yourself at the end of the testing fire."

God is not a God relevant alone inside the walls of a church, within the halls of learning, or within the private confines of personal devotion. No, God is truly Sovereign over each area of our lives. In this case my blog is primarily about serving God in business because I want to give other people the confidence to serve God in business.

Reading your blog - while I am at a contract job - probably not the best way to impress them - but it has really changed my attitude from, "this stinks" to "what a great opportunity I have been blessed with."

Even when things aren't going well, we can use those times to remind us of the good times we will have in the future. As Zig Ziglar says, "if you do the things you have to do when you have to do them, the day will come when you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them."

Thanks for your ministry and heart for the Lord.
